Vita

Born in 1986 in Kamyschin, Russia, Regina received her first lessons in flute, violin and piano at the age of five. She won first prize at the Bundeswettbewerb "Jugend Musiziert" and studied flute with Jean-Claude Gérard (Stuttgart), Joachim Schmitz (Mannheim) and Hansgeorg Schmeiser (Vienna).
She was a member of the Bundesjugendorchester, the "Junges Klangforum Mitte Europa", the Akademie des Münchner Rundfunkorchesters and the "Russisch-Deutsche Musikakademie". As an orchestral musician she performed with the Stuttgarter Kammerorchester, Komische Oper Berlin, Berliner Symphoniker and Theater Magdeburg, among others, and under conductors including Valery Gergiev, Kurt Masur, Daniel Barenboim and Gerd Albrecht.
As a soloist and chamber musician she has appeared at festivals including the Schwetzinger Festspiele, Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival, Festspiele Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Ammerseerande and the Haydn Festival Brühl.
She also studied transverse flute and Early Music at the Universität der Künste Berlin with Christoph Huntgeburth and at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis with Marc Hantai.
Since 2012 she has been principal flutist of the Elbipolis Barockorchester Hamburg and performs regularly as a soloist with Ensemble Café Zimmermann, Lauttencompagney Berlin, Cammermusik Potsdam, Paulus Barokk, Internationale Bachakademie Stuttgart, L'Onda Armonica, Insula Orchestra and other ensembles.
Regina has increasingly devoted time to free improvisation – playing in smaller ensembles and open sessions, drawn to the directness and openness this form of music-making allows. Alongside her performing work, she coaches musicians on performance anxiety, stage presence and finding greater freedom in their playing.
